That Council direct Administration to prepare a Multi-Parcel Country Residential Subdivision Approval policy and present this policy for review at the Committee of the Whole meeting on July 6, 2021.

Administration Recommendation

Administration supports review of a Multi-Parcel Country Residential Subdivision Approval Policy, but asks that Council consider an amendment to the timelines and direction to enable administration to bring a report back to the Committee of the Whole on September 7, 2021.

 

Purpose

This policy will establish guidelines requiring a threshold whereby existing multi-parcel country residential lots must be developed and utilized before any new multi-parcel country subdivision will be permitted.

 

Summary

On April 27, 2021, Mayor Shaigec presented a Notice of Motion:

 

"Take notice that at a regular meeting of Council on May 11, 2021, Mayor Shaigec will move that Council direct administration to prepare a policy for Council review and approval to establish guidelines requiring a threshold whereby existing multi-parcel country residential lots must be developed before any new multi-parcel country subdivisions will be permitted. This policy shall be presented to Council by July, 2021.".
