Proposed Motion

That the following public member appointments to boards and committees be approved effective January 1, 2023:

 

Parkland County Library Board

- Sarah Leteta - 2 Year Term *

 

Subdivision and Development Appeal Board

- Dylan Smith - 3 Year Term *

- Marlene Chambers - 3 Year Term *

- Marc Morin - 3 Year Term *

- Darren Baumgardner - 3 Year Term

- Corinne Lamoureux - 3 Year Term

- Lesley Foy - 3 Year Term

Administration Recommendation

Administration supports the proposed motion.

 

Purpose

Parkland County has boards and committees that allow for public members to serve on.  Each of the committees/boards public members are appointed for specific terms.  Each year, Legislative Services reviews committee/boards that have public member terms ending and initiates public recruitment for these vacancies.

 

Summary

A bi-annual campaign for public committee members was conducted throughout August, September and October 2022 in local newspapers, Parkland County's website and social media. 

 

Parkland County conducted public member interviews on November 28, 2022 for the Parkland County Library Board by the following interview panel:  Mayor Allan Gamble, and Council Members Sally Kucher-Johnson and Rob Wiedeman. The interview panel recommended that Sarah Leteta be reappointed to serve a two-year term.

 

Parkland County conducted public member interviews on November 28 and 29, 2022 for the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board by the following interview panel:  Mayor Allan Gamble (in-part), and Council Members Kristina Kowalski, Rob Wiedeman and Natalie Birnie (in-part).  The interview panel recommended that Dylan Smith, Marlene Chambers, and Marc Morin each be reappointed to the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board for a three-year term; and, that Darren Baumgardner, Corinne Lamoureux and Lesley Foy be appointed to each serve a three-year term.
