Purpose
To provide the West Inter-Lake District (WILD) Water Commission financial support in carrying out work to serve the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation.
Summary
On October 12, 2012 the West Inter-Lake District (WILD) Water Commission discussed the financial support required to undertake the engineering work related to carrying out the transmission pipeline route options to serve the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation. The additional engineering work to complete this task is estimated at $70,000. This work was not contemplated during the original budget nor is it included in the current grant funding approval. The Commission discuss this matter and passed a motion to request financial support in the amount of $35,000 from Parkland County and $35,000 from Lac Ste. Anne County to carry out engineering work related to this item. Lac Ste. Anne Council has passed a motion to fund their portion of this request.
The Commission has acknowledged they are required to repay the entire $35,000 and have committed to do so in approximately one year.
