Purpose
The purpose of this submission is to present the Acheson Industrial Park Transit Feasibility Study and to allocate funding to carry out the completion of a transit implementation plan.

Summary
On September 18, 2012 Council participated in an Acheson Transit Workshop where ISL Engineering and Land Services presented the Acheson Industrial Park Transit Feasibility Study.

During that workshop ISL Engineering presented 3 primary options along with several sub options to implement a transit service within the Acheson Industrial Park. The primary options were as follows:

1.      Conventional Transit Service
2.      Bus pool Service
3.      Van pool

The recommendation presented at the workshop concluded that Van Pooling was the best option in terms of financial performance and minimizing risks. This option provided the greatest flexibility and is scalable to meet the required demand.

As a result, Administration is recommending that Parkland County prepare an implementation plan to commence a Van Pooling Pilot Program.
