Proposed Motion
That regular meetings of Council be scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m. at Parkland County Centre, Council Chambers, on the following dates:
- November 10, 2026
- November 24, 2026
- December 8, 2026
- January 12, 2027
- January 26, 2027
- February 9, 2027
- February 23, 2027
- March 9, 2027
- March 23, 2027
- April 13, 2027
- April 27, 2027
- May 11, 2027
- May 25, 2027
- June 8, 2027
- June 22, 2027
- July 13, 2027
- September 14, 2027
- September 28, 2027
- October 12, 2027

Administration supports Council scheduling regular Council meetings, as presented.
Purpose
To establish a regular Council Meeting schedule for the next twelve months.
Summary
The Municipal Government Act (the "Act") provides Council with the authority to establish regular Council meetings. Under this authority, each year at the Organizational meeting Council sets the dates for regular Council meetings from that meeting to the next Organizational meeting.
The proposed motion schedules regular Council meetings on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, except where dates coincide with winter break, summer break, statutory holidays, or conferences attended by all of Council. Should additional meetings be required, section 194 of the Act allows Council to call special Council meetings whenever Council considers it appropriate to do so.
The meeting dates established will be communicated through Parkland County's website as well as communicated throughout the year on social media and the County's Your Parkland publication.
Historical Information:
Regular meetings of Council have historically been scheduled on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, except where these dates coincide with annual budget presentations, winter break, summer break, statutory holidays, or conferences attended by all of Council.
Options:
Option #1 - Council can approve the dates for regular meetings of Council as presented.
Option #2 - Council may choose to make amendments to the dates that have been presented for the regular meetings of Council.

An approved annual calendar provides a set schedule for regular meetings of Council allowing for proper and effective planning within the organization and for residents, business owners and other interested parties.
