Purpose
To present new grant opportunities and provide the background and context to the County's energy management work.
Summary
This administrative report outlines 3 grant opportunities that have been applied for. Two have been successful and we expect to hear the outcome of the third shortly. The grants will support several projects in line with the County's energy management work, the background of which is included in this report. The two approved funding applications cover the full cost of the projects. The third (not yet approved) will come in the form of a rebate for a percentage of the total project cost. Matching funds are already allocated in the Facilities budget, as these projects were planned in the facilities life cycle assessment.
Historical Information:
RFD 24-177 was presented to Council on June 25, 2024. Council approved the approach of introducing a County Facilities Energy Management Plan and also the contribution dollars necessary to apply for two grant opportunities that were available at the time to progress this work. Those grant applications were successful and this administrative report provides an update on that work as well as new relevant grant opportunities.
