Clymont Community League Sustainability Grant - Major Capital Request

 

Proposed Motion

That Council approve the Clymont Community League Sustainability Grant - Major Capital request in the amount of $32,843 to be included in the 2023 budget, as presented.

Administration Recommendation

Administration supports the Clymont Community League request.  This project meets the requirements of the grant and will improve the outdoor amenities that are used by the community at large.

 

Purpose

As per Policy C-RP03, requests submitted under the Sustainability Grant - Major Capital are to be approved by Council.

 

Summary

Clymont Community League supports the community through a variety of programs and rental opportunities both inside the hall and outside. Over the years Clymont has added an outdoor rink, memorial garden and improved their ball diamonds and playground. Clymont is looking to further improve the outdoor experience through improvements to the walking trail, outdoor rink and skate shack. The total estimated cost of the overall project is $65,686. They are seeking support from Parkland County for $32,843 with the remainder funded by the leagues savings and volunteer time.
