Proposed Motion

That administration be directed to resurrect the plans for the Lois Hole Provincial Park Interpretive Centre and Linear Park to be located in the nationally significant area bordering Big Lake in Parkland County.  Engagement and partnerships with Alberta Environment and Parks, Sturgeon County, City of St. Albert, City of Edmonton, BLESS (Big Lake Environment Support Society), and the Big Lake Community Association to commence in March 2022.

Purpose

At the February 22, 2022 Regular Council Meeting, Council Member Kowalski presented a Notice of Motion advising that a motion will be presented to Council on March 8, 2022 at the regular scheduled Council meeting to direct administration to resurrect the plans for the Lois Hole Provincial Park Interpretive Centre and Linear Park to be located in the nationally significant area bordering Big Lake in Parkland County.  Engagement and partnerships with Alberta Environment and Parks, Sturgeon County, City of St. Albert, City of Edmonton, BLESS (Big Lake Environment Support Society), and the Big Lake Community Association to commence in March 2022.
