Proposed Motion

1. That the 2025 Not for Profit Organization Grant Funding Allocation in the amount of $113,455.81 be approved for inclusion in the 2025 Budget, as presented.

2. That funding for STARS in the amount of $25,000.00 be approved for inclusion in the 2025 Budget, as presented.

Administration supports the motion as presented.

 

Purpose

As outlined in Policy C-RP14 Not for Profit Organization Funding, Council provides final approval on all funding allocations.

 

Summary

Not for Profit organizations play a key role in providing programs and services to Parkland County residents. The Not For Profit Grant is open to all eligible organizations to receive funding towards their operating, project and capital expenses. A total of 27 applications were received with a total request of $264,014.73. Administration recommends that $113,455.81 be allocated to 20 recipient organizations as per the attached spreadsheet.  Administration thoroughly reviewed the applications and scored each application according to the criteria outlined in Policy C-RP14. Applications and recommendations where reviewed with the Community Sustainability Committee who provided the final recommendation.

 

In 2023 STARS presented a funding request to Council and was approved in the 2024 budget for funding in the amount of $25,000. 2025 funding option has been included for Council's review and recommendation.
