Summary
The Land Use Bylaw is required by the Municipal Government Act (MGA) for all municipalities in Alberta. Work for the proposed Bylaw 2025-12 was completed over three (3) phases: Phase 1 - Engagement and Foundational Research, Phase 2 - Regulation Refinement and Draft Land Use Bylaw Engagement, and Phase 3: Final Land Use Bylaw and Approvals. An update was completed to address the streamlining of regulations, ensure the document is transparent and clear, to recognize community and industry development trends, and to incorporate community feedback. Proposed Bylaw 2025-12 incorporates policy direction from the Municipal Development Plan (MDP) and formally incorporates the Hamlet of Wabamun's Land Use Bylaw.
