That Council authorize Parkland County to become an intervenor before the Land and Property Rights Tribunal in relation to the TransAlta Linear Property Assessment Complaint number L26/TRAN/WILS-0.

Purpose

To authorize Parkland County to participate as an intervenor in the Land and Property Rights Tribunal hearings concerning TransAlta's assessment complaint of Linear Property for the 2026 tax year.

 

Summary

TransAlta has filed a complaint with the Land and Property Rights Tribunal regarding the assessment of Linear Property for the 2026 taxation year. If the complaint is successful, Parkland County will face a reduction in tax revenue. Parkland County Council has authorized intervenor status on previous complaints filed by TransAlta.
