Purpose
To appoint Parkland County's Director to the Edmonton Regional Airports Authority Board of Directors.
Summary
The Edmonton Regional Airports Authority is an independent body whose purpose is to manage and operate the local airports system on behalf of and in the best interests of the Edmonton region. Under the Airport Authorities enabling legislation and Articles of Incorporation, Parkland County appoints one at large Director to the 13 member Board. Directors serve a four year term and are eligible to serve a maximum of two consective full terms. Parkland County's appointee to the Board of Directors will expire on December 31, 2013.
Parkland County's present appointee Gail Stepanik-Keber was appointed to the Board on January 1, 2010 to serve a four year term. The Board Chair, Tom Redl, has indicated that during Ms. Stepanik-Keber tenure, she has proven to be a valuable and contributing member of the Board, and has consistently demonstrated the core attributes required of a Director. Ms. Stepanik-Keber has confirmed her interest in being re-appointed for a second four year term. The Edmonton Regional Airports Authority Board passed a Resolution supporting her re-appointment at their June 21, 2013 meeting.
