Administration Recommendation
Administration recommends that Council give first reading to Bylaw 2017-19 and set a Public Hearing date for September 12, 2017.
Purpose
This matter is being presented to Council in response to two motions by Council on May 9, 2017.
Summary
On May 9, 2017 Council moved that administration be directed to prepare an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw and the accompanying definition section of the Bylaw to exclude outdoor gun ranges in all residential districts from the definition of Outdoor Participant Recreation Services. Bylaw 2017-19 changes the existing definition of Outdoor Participant Recreation Services to exclude outdoor shooting ranges, creates a new use class and definition for outdoor shooting ranges, and adds the new use in the AGG and RE land use districts.
