Proposed Motion
1. That Eva Beyer be appointed as Parkland County's Returning Officer for the 2025 Municipal Election in accordance with the Local Authorities Election Act.
2. That Barb Williams, Manager, Legislative and Legal Services be appointed as Parkland County's Substitute Returning Officer for the 2025 Municipal Election in accordance with the Local Authorities Election Act.

Purpose
To appoint a returning officer and substitute returning officer for the purposes of conducting elections.
Summary
Section 13 of the Local Authorities Election Act, states that an elected authority may, by resolution, appoint a returning officer and a substitute returning officer for the purpose of conducting elections.
Planning for Election 2025 has begun and Eva Beyer has been contracted as Returning Officer to conduct the 2025 municipal election. As in previous elections, Parkland County will enter into agreements to conduct a joint election with the three school boards within our boundaries. In addition, Parkland County will enter into agreements with the Town of Stony Plain and the City of Spruce Grove to conduct a joint election for the school boards within those respective municipal boundaries. Ms. Beyer has over 18 years experience in municipal government and specifically, Legislative Services having been a Returning Officer in several municipal elections.
