Requests for proposals was issued as the term of the incumbent auditor expired effective December 31, 2011.
 
Summary
The term of the incumbent auditor expired effective December 31, 2011. Request for proposals was issued on July 27, 2012 in which six firms submitted a proposal. Administration has reviewed the proposals in accordance with the criteria in the request for proposals. KPMG's cost of services to be provided was the lowest proposal. KPMG rated very high for deliverables proposed for completing the audit as outlined, corporate profile, and for qualifications and experience of the professional staff to be assigned to the audit.

Section 280 of the Municipal Government Act states that each council must appoint one or more auditors for the municipality.
