Administration supports the proposed revisions to the Gravel Advisory Committee Terms of Reference.
Purpose
To amend the terms of reference of the Gravel Advisory Committee.
Summary
At the establishment of this committee, the members discussed the mechanism by which they would govern themselves. The Committee wish to change the paramaters of quorum to ensure a fair representation at meetings and the parameters of vote passing to ensure the buy-in of the members on recommendations coming forward for Council consideration. The Gravel Advisory Committee is requesting that the Quorum and voting structure be changed as follows:
1) Quorum is a minimum of 5 members in attendance with at least 2 industry members and 2 public members.
2) Votes must pass by 5 votes by show of hands, in-person voting.
In addition the committee requested that the frequency of meetings be changed to allow council to request the committee to meet more frequently if required.
