Proposed Motions:
a) That Bylaw No. 33-2012, as revised, receive second reading.
b) That Administration be directed to forward proposed Bylaw 33-2012 to the Capital Region Board for approval.
Body
Administration Recommendation(s)
Administration supports the adoption of Bylaw No. 33-2012, as revised.
Purpose
Bylaw No. 33-2012, as revised, is being proposed to ensure consistency between the Municipal Development Plan Bylaw No. 37-2007, and the updated Acheson Industrial Area Structure Plan (proposed Bylaw No. 32-2012).
Summary
Council heard public comment on proposed amendments to the Municipal Development Plan (proposed Bylaw 33-2012) at the November 6, 2012 Public Hearing. Council then directed Administration to table proposed Bylaw 33-2012 for second reading on November 20, 2012.
Administration recommends a minor wording change to clauses 8(c), and 9(b) of proposed Bylaw 33-2012. The proposed changes add the word "approximate" to both clauses. The proposed changes would provide Administration with more flexibility to accomodate development outside of the proposed 200 metre wide area as identified in both MDP Map 2 Land Use Concept Map, and Map 3 Parkland County Area Structure Plans Map.
Strategic Plan/Policy/Legal/Staff Implications
If proposed Bylaw 33-2012 receives second reading, as revised, Administration requests to be directed to forward the proposed Bylaw to the Capital Region Board for approval. Proposed Bylaw 33-2012 would be forwarded to the Capital Region Board in conjunction with proposed Bylaw 32-2012.
