That Council approve funding of up to $20,375 from Recreation Facilities Restricted Surplus for the Town of Devon's Capital Cost Share request for upgrades to the Devon Swimming Pool.

Administration Recommendation(s)
Administration believes these upgrades would be beneficial to increase the longevity of the facility. A significant number of the facility's users are from Parkland County, which demonstrates the importance of this facility for our residents. Conducting these upgrades will ensure the long term enjoyment of this facility by our residents.
Purpose
Under the terms of our cost share agreement with the Town of Devon, Parkland County may, at their discretion, provide funding support for capital repairs made to the Devon Swimming Pool.
Summary
The Town of Devon Swimming pool is in need of some major upgrades if it is to continue to be operational. They have outlined a three year plan in which they anticipate completing all of the required upgrades and renovations to the facility. In 2013, as per the attached letter, they will be installing a new circulation pump, replacing eaves troughs, replacing their deck carpeting, installing new floor tiles and partitions, upgrading some of their electrical, replacing roof insulation and adding a new deck edge.
The total cost of this work is estimated at $81,500 of which they are requesting 25% from Parkland County for a total request of $20,375.
