Purpose
Section 72 of the Municipal Government Act of Alberta requires a municipality that wishes to acquire an estate or interest in land outside of its boundaries to obtain written consent from the Council of the municipal authority whose boundaries the land is located prior to acquiring their estate or interest in the land.
Summary
Parkland County received a formal request from Lac Ste. Anne County requesting our authorization for them to acquire an interest in the SW 29-53-06-W5M for the acquisition of aggregate materials over a ten year period. Lac Ste. Anne County proposes to enter into an agreement with the owner of this property, and register an encumbrance in their favour against the title of these lands, if Parkland County's provides our consent for them to acquire an interest in this land. Lac Ste. Anne County has a very limited source of aggregate material in this immediate area of their County and requests Parkland County Council's favourable consideration of their request. The SW 29-53-06-W5M is located within the boundaries of Parkland County.
