Title

Service Connection Requirements for Water and Wastewater Servicing Policy

Proposed Motion

That Council direct Administration to prepare a Service Connection Requirements for Water and Wastewater Servicing policy and present this policy for review at the Committee of the Whole meeting on July 6, 2021.

Body

Administration Recommendation

Administration supports review of a proposed Service Connection Requirements for Water and Wastewater Servicing Policy, but asks that Council consider an amendment to the timelines and direction to enable administration to bring a report back to the Committee of the Whole on September 7, 2021.

Purpose

This policy will establish guidelines for new developments to connect to municipal water and/or municipal waste water systems. New development projects may bring forward concerns regarding water usage and the process for dealing with waste water. A policy with guidelines for new developments would provide a process for projects and allow them to plan accordingly from the beginning of the development application process.
