Summary
The Stony Plain and Parkland Pioneer Museum Society is currently working on new building project which will be a replica of Stony Plain's original town hall.  This new building will be a key feature of the museum, will be open year round and will include two exhibits, a Women's Exhibit (celebrating the lives of pioneer women of Parkland County and Stony Plain from the 1880's to 1950's) and the Museum's extensive oil lamp collection.  The building will be wheel chair accessible, ensuring it is accessible by all.  The overall project is expected to cost $311,000 of which the Town of Stony Plain has contributed $74,500 ($15,170 of which was forthe originial building move and foundation however it was later determined that the building was unfit for restoration) and a CFEP application will be submitted for $125,000 which leaves $126,670 unfunded.  Should Council approve the full request, the remaining $52,170 will be raised locally via donations and sponsorships.
