To consider the use of the Whitewood Mine lands north of the Hamlet of Wabamun on the north side of Highway 16.
Summary
On November 2, 2023 during the Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) fall convention, Councillors Wiedeman and Birnie met the Energy Minister, the Honourable Brian Jean, Vitor Marciano, MLA Shane Getson, Rick Wallace of TransAlta, Lance Engly of the Alberta Conservation Association (ACA), and Gordon Janssen (retired former TransAlta /Sun Hills Mining Reclamation Manager) to discuss the status of the former Whitewood Mine lands.
