Proposed Motions
1. That Council receive this update for information.
2. That Council approve the addition of grant funds in the amount of $235,313 to fund the Boiler Replacement at the Tri Leisure Centre.
3. That Council approve Parkland County's role as the sponsor municipality for this project.
4. That Council approve the use of the Tri Leisure Centre Restricted Reserve up to $250,000 to fund the percentage of the project not covered by the grant of $235,300.

Purpose
To provide the background and context to why administration is supporting this project and to gain Council approval to act as the sponsor for this grant funding, include the funding in the 2026 budget, and approve the use of the Tri Leisure Centre Restricted Reserve to fund the percentage of the project not covered by the grant funding.
Summary
This Appointment outlines an energy reduction project at the Tri Leisure Centre. A grant application was submitted through the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre's Community Energy Conservation program. The application has been successful. Parkland County is being asked to sponsor the application (provide the administration for the funding agreement), approve the use of the Tri Leisure Centre Restricted Reserve to fund the portion of the project not being funded by the grant (approval from the three owner municipalities is required as per the Memorandum of Agreement). As the sponsor municipality, the grant funding would be received by Parkland County and transferred to the Tri Leisure Centre. The grant funds ($235,313) therefore need to be approved for addition to the 2026 budget.
