Administration Recommendation(s)
The Economic Development & Tourism Advisory Committee is of the opinion that the Ambassador Program would be a valuable addition to Parkland County's promotional activities. The Committee recommends that initially the Program be designed for business people to be ambassadors and that they will focus on business attraction activities.
 
Purpose
The Economic Development & Tourism Advisory Committee made the motion that the Ambassador Program outline for businesses be presented to the Governance and Priorities Committee for its recommendation. The purpose of the program is to train and utilize local business people to promote Parkland County to their contacts while conducting business around the world.
Summary
 
On May 1st 2012 Governance and Priorities Committee approved the Ambassador Program. At the January 2012 Economic Development & Tourism Advisory Committee meeting, the Committee suggested that the ED&T Department revisit the implementation of the Ambassador Program for Parkland County. The ED&T Department subsequently researched on the program and then designed an outline that will serve as a foundation in the program's further development. At the March 2012 EDTAC meeting the Committee approved the Program and forwarded it to Council for further direction.
