Purpose
To update Council on key activities within Infrastructure Services going forward in 2017.
Summary
Infrastructure services continues to advance projects and initiatives as identified within the 2017 Budget. Public Works will continue with oversight of key facility upgrades for the County including the Agriculture Services building, the upgraded Parkland County Waste Transfer Station, construction of a new Sand/Salt Storage Shed and other minor facility improvements such as the Tomahawk Roof replacement. Public Works will continue with the same great service regarding snow clearing, pothole and roadway repairs, waste management site operations, water & waste water services as well as several other day to day tasks.
Engineering Services will advance projects outlined in the 2017-2020 Capital Road Program. Transit in Acheson will move into Phase II with an associated shuttle service option. Asset Management initiatives will continue to expand with updates to the existing road programs and inclusion of all utility infrastructure owned and maintained by the County. This area will also initiate workshops with Council to derive clear understanding on Service Level expectations throughout the County. Additional work tasks include full completion of the Acheson Storm Water Outfall project, completion of the Entwistle sanitary sewer line renewals, train whistle cessation requests and oversight and approval of major utility activities (Kinder Morgan pipeline, ALTAlink power transmission lines, etc.).
