Purpose
This presentation will provide an overview of the work done in 2019 and 2020 by the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action Sub-Committee as established by Parkland County Council and provide an update on some initial steps that have taken place since that time.
Summary
In 2019, Council established a Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action Sub-Committee with three objectives: (1) Evaluate the Calls to Action pertaining to municipalities from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report; (2) Perform a current state analysis; and (3) Engage local Indigenous communities. The Sub-Committee reported back to Council in 2019 and 2020, and some initial steps have taken place to advance this work.
