All agreements greater than one year require Council approval.
Summary
The 9-1-1 grant funding program is a new government of Alberta initiative delivered under the authority of the Emergency 9-1-1 Act.  The objective of the program is to support and enhance the delivery and development of 9-1-1 service throughout Alberta.
The grant funding process will be made available to Parkland through the collection and remittance of the 9-1-1 wireless fees throughout Parkland's 9-1-1 coverage area.  Funding conditions are intended to promote and enhance public safety, integrate new 9-1-1 technologies and improve existing 9-1-1 systems.
Based on the formula currently being proposed, Parkland will be eligible for funding on an annual basis.

Terms of the agreement will be adhered to by both Parkland County and Ministry of Municipal Affairs.
