That Council Member Wiedeman and Council Member Kowalski be appointed to the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board effective June 14, 2022 to the October 2022 Organizational meeting.

Purpose

At the May 24, 2022 Council meeting, Bylaw 2022-08 received three readings.  Bylaw 2022-08 is an amending bylaw to Subdivision and Development Appeal Board Bylaw 2018-26.  Bylaw 2022-08 amends the composition of the Board to now include two (2) Council members to be appointed.  The appointment presented is for the term effective June 14, 2022 to the October 2022 Organizational meeting of Council.  Bylaw 2022-08 states that Council members will be appointed annually at the Organizational meeting.  The term effective from June 14, 2022 to the Organizational meeting will allow for mandatory training of two (2) members of Council, and to start attending Subdivision and Development Appeal Board appeals.

 

Summary

December 8, 2021 Council directed administration to present a plan for Council to be part of the composition of the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board.  At the April 5, 2022 Governance and Priorities Committee meeting, Council directed administration to include members of Council as composition of the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board.  At the May 24, 2022 Council meeting, Bylaw 2022-08, being a bylaw to amend Subdivision and Development Appeal Board Bylaw 2018-26, received three readings to include members of Council to be members of the Board.
