Administration supports the recommendation to remove maximum number of terms or years served restrictions for public committee members.

Purpose

To revise all applicable committee and board Terms of Reference to eliminate restrictions on number of terms or years served by public members.

Summary

Parkland County has thirteen (13) committees and boards that include public members. As the Terms of Reference stand currently, most restrict the maximum number of terms or year that committee members may serve. To ensure that the highest quality of skill and expertise is utilized on the committees and to ensure the greatest amount of flexibility in determining the committee/board membership, Council has directed Administration to revise all applicable Terms of Reference to enable public members to serve for an unrestricted amount of time.
