Title

Request to Rescind Subdivision Signs Policy PW-005

Proposed Motion

That Subdivision Signs Policy PW-005 be rescinded, as presented.

Body

Administration Recommendation

Administration supports the proposed motion to rescind Subdivision Signs Policy PW-005.

Purpose

Policy PW-005 has become redundant over time with the adoption of additional bylaws and policies.

Summary

Policy PW-005 was approved in 1990 with the intent to define the requirements for subdivision signs at the time of development, maintenance of existing subdivision signs and the erection of subdivision signs by residents.  There are several current bylaws and policies in place that address the requirements of the existing policy.  These include the Municipal Government Act of Alberta, Bylaw 2017-18 Parkland County Land Use Bylaw, Bylaw 10-90 Permits for the Erection of Signs on County and Secondary Highway Road Allowance, Bylaw 2015-30 Direct the Orderly Addressing of Buildings and Properties and Appropriate Naming of Roads within Parkland County (Civic Address Bylaw), 2014 Parkland County Engineering Design Standards and Policy C-PD03 Subdivision Conditions and Endorsement.  As a result, Policy PW-005 has become redundant and is not longer required.
