Proposed Motion
That Council authorize Parkland County to become an intervenor before the Municipal Government Board in relation to the TransAlta Designated Industrial Property Assessment Complaint numbered DIP18/TRAN-WILS-01.

Purpose
TransAlta has submitted two Linear complaints and one Designated Industrial Property complaint to the Municipal Government Board relating to the assessments for the 2018 taxation year. In April 2018 Council passed a resolution authorizing the municipality to become an intervenor in the Linear matters and this resolution clarifies that the County is intervening in the Designated Industrial Property Assessment Complaints as well.
Summary
Section 508(1) of the Municipal Government Act provides that when Council considers that the interests of the public in the municipality, or in a major part of the municipality, are sufficiently concerned Council may authorize the municipality to become an intervenor in a hearing before the Board.
