Wastewater Transfer Stations and Wastewater Overstrength Charges from ARROW Utilities

 

Proposed Motion

That the wastewater transfer stations and wastewater overstrength charges from ARROW Utilities matter be tabled to the June 25, 2024 Council meeting.

Administration supports the proposed motion.

 

Purpose

To allow administration with the necessary time to complete additional consultation with haulers utilizing wastewater transfer stations within Parkland County.

 

Summary

At the June 6, 2023 Governance and Priorities Committee meeting, Parkland County proposed wastewater transfer station fees and charges 2024 (RFD 23-174) was presented that included the background on the costs and concerns with respect to both the Stony Plain and Villeneuve Wastewater Transfer Stations. The proposed motion that Council support an increase to $11.50/m3 for both transfer stations was defeated. Currently both wastewater transfer stations user fees remain at $10/m3.

 

At the May 28, 2024 Council meeting, Wastewater Transfer Stations and Wastewater Overstrength Charges from ARROW Utilities (RFD 24-119) was presented to Council where it was tabled to the June 11, 2024 Council meeting. Administration is now requesting that this item be tabled to the June 25, 2024 Council Meeting to allow for further wastewater hauler input.
