Administration is very excited by the news that Parkland County been selected for this honor and distinction, and are very pleased to share this information with Council and our residents; and will now look at the best way of promoting this selection by Alberta Venture Magazine.
Purpose
This is being presented to inform Council of this well deserved recognition by a major business magazine.
Summary
Parkland County was selected by Alberta Venture Magazine in 2010 as the 2nd best community for business in Alberta. The following year, the magazine changed it's format and expanded the focus to include all of Western Canada with several different categories. This year they have refined the format and have selected the top 25 communities in Western Canada to do business in. In addition to being chosen as one of the top 25 communities in Western Canada for business, Parkland County was selected in the top 3 communities for small business in Western Canada. It is worthwhile to note that Rocky View County and Wood Buffalo are the only other counties selected in Western Canada.
