Purpose
Every four years, following a municipal election, Parkland County Council develops a Strategic Plan to establish a clear and unified direction for the organization and the community it serves. The Plan establishes Council's priorities and desired outcomes, guiding decision making and service delivery across the organization. It provides a framework for accountability, performance measurement, and responsible resource allocation, ensuring County efforts remain focused on community needs and long-term sustainability. Through the Strategic Plan, Council communicates its vision for the future and its commitment to enhancing the quality of life, economic prosperity, and overall well-being of the community.
Summary
The Strategic Plan establishes the direction and priorities for Parkland County and serves as the roadmap for both Council and Administration. Developed through a series of strategic planning discussions, Council has approved the 2026-2029 Strategic Plan, which includes a refreshed purpose and vision for the County. The Plan is supported by four interconnected strategic drivers that will guide decision-making over the next four years, along with key goals and desired outcomes that will inform administrative priorities and support the County’s long-term success.
At Council’s direction, the draft Strategic Plan was shared with the public from April 15 to June 18, 2026, to gather community input. Following the engagement period, Administration reviewed the feedback with Council, and updates were made to the Plan to reflect what was heard through the public engagement process.
