That Bylaw 2025-12 receive third and final reading.

Administration Recommendation

Administration recommends that Bylaw 2025-12 receive third reading as it is in alignment with Parkland County's Strategic Plan 2022-2025 and the County's Municipal Development Plan Bylaw 2024-22.

 

Purpose

Administration is presenting Bylaw 2025-12 for third and final reading. Bylaw 2025-12 proposes to rescind and replace Bylaw 2017-18 being the current Land Use Bylaw.

 

Summary

A Land Use Bylaw is required by the Municipal Government Act (MGA) for all municipalities in Alberta. Proposed Bylaw 2025-12 represents over 2 years of engagement, research, and refinement. This project was completed to address the streamlining of regulations, ensure the document is transparent and clear, recognize community and industry trends, and to incorporate community feedback. Proposed Bylaw 2025-12 incorporates policy direction from the Municipal Development Plan (MDP) and formally incorporates the Hamlet of Wabamun's Land Use Bylaw.
