Proposed Motion

That the Wabamun Facilities Review Presentation be received for information, as presented.

Body

Administration Recommendation

Administration supports the proposed motion to accept the presentation as information.

Purpose

To provide information on the current and future usage of the Wabamun municipal facilities.

Summary

Wabamun has a number of municipally owned facilities in varying physical conditions that have been and are being used by various departments in various ways. An assessment of the efficiency of facility usage in Wabamun was requested.

Parkland County hired Nichols to produce a plan that identifies the physical space required to deliver current and future municipal services for the region, utilizing the fewest buildings in the most effective, efficient manner with costing estimates for any necessary renovations, along with implementation and disposal recommendations.

Administration will review the proposed recommendations, taking into account any comments from Committee today and develop options for moving forward.  These will be presented to Council In the fall for discussion and decision.
