Title
Regional Collaboration Grant Application - Investigate Shared Technology Service Delivery
Proposed Motion
That Council direct administration to participate in the collaboration initiative to assess regional opportunities for shared technology service delivery as proposed by Municipal Information Systems Association (MISA).
Body
Administration Recommendation
Administration supports the proposed motion.
Purpose
To investigate opportunities for regional service delivery of information technology services provided by municipalities.
Summary
MISA wants to apply for the Regional Collaboration Grant to identify the technology services provided at a municipal level that could be regionalized and delivered. They are asking for commitment from regional Alberta municipalities to determine interest and for calculating the dollar amount of the proposed grant request. Administration supports participation in this regional collaborative effort, as municipalities can and should work together on coming up with cost-effective technology delivery solutions. There is no anticipated cost to municipalities, and will give participating municipalities access to the report and deliverables.
