Administration supports the proposed motion.

 

Purpose

Upon Council's approval, the 2025 Fire Services Wildfire Mitigation Strategy, Wildfire Hazard and Risk Assessment, and FireSmart Scorecard will be received for information.

 

Summary

Fire Services Administration, working with Forsite Fire, has completed the 2025 Wildfire Mitigation Strategy and Wildfire Hazard and Risk Assessment, and working with FireSmart Alberta has completed the FireSmart scorecard. This strategic document provides recommendations intended to align fire services activities and Councils approved level of services, and ensures that programs and services offered meet current and projected demand within Parkland County.

 

Historical Information:

Council approved receiving grant funding for the completion of the Wildfire Mitigation Strategy and Wildfire Hazard and Risk Assessment on February 11, 2025, as well as receiving grant funding for the FireSmart Coordinator position on September 24, 2024.
