That the Governance and Priorities Committee accept the Entwistle and Evansburg Recreation and Parks Facilities Strategic Plan for information as presented.
Further,
That the Governance and Priorities Committee direct Administration to enter into discussions with Yellowhead County for the purpose of developing an Implementation Plan to be presented back to Council for consideration and decision.

Purpose
To present the Entwistle and Evansburg Recreation and Parks Facilities Strategic Plan.
Summary
Parkland County and Yellowhead County recognized the need to complete a comprehensive review of the parks and recreation facilities in the region surrounding and including the Hamlets of Entwistle and Evansburg. The objective of the review was to generate a Recreation and Parks Strategic Plan for the delivery of parks and recreation services for the Hamlets of Entwistle and Evansburg. The plan was to look at both indoor and outdoor recreation and community space, including outdoor parks spaces, natural areas, sportsfields as well as recreation opportunities that are provided by other public or private organizations outside of what's offered by Parkland County and Yellowhead County.
In June of 2012 Parkland County and Yellowhead County retained the services of Paul Conrad and Associates Ltd to prepare the plan. The Consulting Team implemented a process of data collection and research to determine community needs, priorities and preferences and undertook an assessment of current recreation and parks facilities in the Hamlets. Based on their findings recommendations have been developed to ensure that the current and future recreation and parks needs in these two communities are met.
