Purpose
Administration is in the process of reviewing policies approved by Council as well as directives and procedures that guide Administration in implementing those policies through programs and services.
Summary
Administration presented Communications Policy C-CO01 to Council at a regular meeting of Council on February 9, 2021. Council tabled Communications Policy C-CO01 to the February 23, 2021 Council meeting.
This policy will govern Communications, a service area that has grown significantly in the last decade to include multiple methods of communication (e.g. social media platforms). This policy will replace the current Media Response Policy C-AD08 to ensure that all methods of broad public communication are included, and to ensure role clarity amongst both Council and staff for effective public communication.
