Title
Land Use Bylaw Project Update and Round 3 Engagement Opportunities Update
Proposed Motion
That the Proposed Draft Land Use Bylaw and Round 3 Engagement Opportunities be received for information, as presented.
Body
Administration Recommendation
Administration recommends that Council accept the Proposed Draft Land Use Bylaw and Round 3 Engagement Opportunities Update for information, as presented.
Purpose
Parkland County is updating the Land Use Bylaw (LUB) in an effort to streamline regulations and create clear and transparent decision-making processes for development in the County. The purpose of this presentation is to provide Council an overview of the regulations being proposed in the new land use bylaw and to share the upcoming opportunities for public engagement and input.
Summary
The County's Land Use Bylaw (LUB) was last updated in 2017, with a previous update in 2009 and minor changes completed every few years. Now that the former Village of Wabamun is part of the county, it is desirable to ensure consistency throughout the County and integrate Wabamun into the LUB. The Draft LUB has taken into consideration a wide variety of feedback from residents, businesses, and stakeholders over several years and Administration is looking to gather feedback on the draft set of regulations. Further detail and background info is provided in the attached report.
