Purpose

To provide direction on implementation of the Wabamun Lake Watershed Management Plan.

 

Summary

In 2020, the Wabamun Watershed Management Council in partnership with the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance, the Province of Alberta, TransAlta, local NGOs and all the municipalities surrounding Wabamun Lake; completed the Wabamun Lake Watershed Management Plan which sets out a long term vision for the lake including four high-level goals and a number of implementation strategies. Since then, a Steering Committee has been struck to implement the plan through voluntary collaborative participation of all stakeholders.

Follow-up motions from the Wabamun Lake Watershed Management Plan Implementation Steering Committee presentation on April 4th.
