Historical Information:

In March 2025, Parkland County undertook the Hasse Lake Redevelopment Plan to create a long-term strategy for improving the Hasse Lake Recreational Area, a 75 hectare natural park featuring trails, forested areas, and a lake used primarily for year round recreational fishing. The project responds to deteriorating infrastructure, declining water quality, aging amenities, and increasing expectations for nature based recreation. In October 2026, administration returned with a detailed design and presented to council for consideration.

Strategic Plan/Policy/Legal/Staff Implications:

Complete Communities - We recognize the diversity of Parkland County's communities, while fostering a unified and shared vision for Parkland as a whole.

Financial Impact:

Cost: $2,670,000

Source of Funding: Recreation Restricted Surplus
