Purpose
To approve funding for the purchase of the Parkland County Commemorative piece.
Summary
In accordance with Policy C-RP17, the art advisory committee is recommending that Parkland County purchase the piece titled "Synchronicity" by Tarra Wedman. The committee chose this piece to recommend because it was created by a renowned artist and depicts the various facets of Parkland County. Wedman has included symbols of industry, agriculture and environment in a simple yet elegant design. A master mold has been created and each piece will be glazed and fired in a kiln. County staff will continue to look after framing and having a plaque made prior to each gifting. The piece will be matted and framed in a deep set frame with space for the plaque below.
