Summary
Parkland County is a shareholding member of the River Valley Alliance (RVA) and has three projects being considered for implementation as part of the RVA's Plan of Action. These projects include Prospectors' Point Day Use Park upgrades, secondary trail development and a potential trail link to the Devonian Gardens. Planning, costing and approvals for the Prospector's Point Day Use Park and secondary trail projects are in place and projects are slated to be carried out over 2014 and 2015. The idea for a Devonian Gardens trail link required further exploration and information in order for Parkland County to make a decision with regards to the future of this project.
Dialog Design was retained to prepare a conceptual plan for the project. The purpose of this planning exercise was to engage the Parkland community for the purposes of gathering feedback on this idea, including potential alignment options, types of uses and other concerns and issues. The plan was to detail the project methodology used, assessment findings, public engagement results, concept options and costing.
Administration is pleased to present the Devonian Gardens trail link concept plan for Governance and Priorities Committee consideration.
