Purpose

To outline the process for the Subdivision Authority to implement conditions of subdivision approval, and for landowners to complete the conditions associated with subdivision approvals in Parkland County. The Policy will be presented to Council for decision on November 10, 2026.

Summary

The current Subdivision Conditions and Endorsements Policy (C-PD03) was last updated in 2014, and references a number of policies and processes that have since been updated or rescinded. Planning and Development Services is proposing to update the policy to streamline processes for Applicants, reflect current policies and practices, and make the policy more concise and easier to understand through plain language. This work is aligned with the Planning & Development Department's efforts to reduce red tape.

An overview of the conditions and endorsement requirements contemplated within the policy and the proposed changes can be found in Attachment 2.

Strategic Plan:

The proposed Policy is in alignment with the Municipal Government Act and the Subdivision and Development Regulation. The proposed Policy is consistent with goals and policies of the Municipal Development Plan Bylaw 2024-22, and the Parkland County 2026 - 2029 Strategic Plan (Responsive Service, Goal 1 and Sustainable Growth, Goal 2).
