Purpose
The purpose of this entreaty is to request that Council approve the attached document as Parkland County's State of the Environment Report, 2012.
Summary
Parkland County's inaugural State of the Environment Report 2012 provides an assessment of the condition of Parkland County's Environment, the nature of the pressures upon it and the responses to those pressures. The assessment focuses on the state of Parkland County's air, water, land, and biodiversity. The results provide a benchmark to be measured against future annual State of the Environment Reports. It will also be used to inform Council's next Strategic Plan updates, the upcoming Master Conservation Plan, the Municipal Development Plan to reviewed next year, and future future watershed and lake management plans.
