Recommendation
That Council approve funding of up to $3,500 from Restricted Surplus - Recreation Facilities for Arena Kick Board replacement at the Glenn Hall Centennial Arena.

Purpose
Under the terms of our cost share agreement with Stony Plain Parkland County may, at their discretion, provide funding support for capital repairs made to the Glenn Hall Centennial Arena.
Summary
The Town of Stony Plain is requesting capital cost share on the following project:
Kick Board Replacement
- The existing kick board has been used on both sides and requires replacement
- Total project cost is $10,000, with County’s share being $3,500
The Town capital cost share is based on a 35% county resident usage rate of the arena.
Please note that the Digital Direct Control System and Boiler Room Renovation projects referred to in the attached Letter of Request from Stony Plain have already been approved for cost sharing by Parkland County Council resolution 86-09. They have been carried forward from 2009, indication from the Town is they plan to proceed with them in 2012. The Ice Resurfacer Conditioner replacement project has been withdrawn.

Administration believes this project contributes towards the effective operation and supports capital cost share on these projects.
