Participation in the Capital Region Board Intermunicipal Transit Governance Study
Proposed Motion
That Parkland County participate in the Capital Region Board Intermunicipal Transit Governance Study, that Council Member Dianne Allen and Council Member Darrell Hollands (alternate) be authorized to attend these meetings as a voting member, and that $2,550 be paid to the Capital Region Board as Parkland County's share of the cost of this project.

Purpose
To authorize Parkland County to participate in the Capital Region Board Intermunicipal Transit Governance Study, to authorize Council Members Dianne Allen and Darrell Hollands (as alternate) to attend these meetings as voting members, and to approve a payment of $2,550.00 to the Capital Region Board as share of the project cost.
Summary
As a member of the Capital Region Board, Parkland County has the option to participate in this governance study and provide a voluntary contribution towards the cost of this project. This study intends to quantify and qualify the costs, benefits and merits of a commission model of governance, to oversee the management and operations of intermunicipal transit services in the Capital Region. Parkland County could be impacted by the management and operations of a intermunicipal transit service; therefore it is advisable that Parkland County participate in, and contribute to, this governance study.

Participation in this project supports Parkland County's strategic goal to have mutually beneficial partnerships with other municipalities and orders of government based on respect for the aspirations, autonomy and right to self determination of each by actively seeking joint project opportunities that will benefit our communities.
