Purpose
Council resolutions are required to support the Alberta Community Partnership Grant application process. The grant will be used to support establishing a network of rural municipalities that have, or are developing, utility communications networks. The Rural Communications Network will benefit Parkland County through shared experiences with other rural municipalities, and in co-locating communication towers that benefit two or more counties or smaller municipalities.

Summary
The funds will be used to hire consultants to create a partnership governance model, and network development strategies. It will also be used to establish joint designs, processes and best practices to innovatively and efficiently design, build, operate and market the infrastructure to providers so they will locate on the towers.
